I’ve been in the New River Valley since 1978 – it is a special place. I feel good about making my community more beautiful and enjoyable – one project at a time.
1996-2014 Crenshaw Lighting, makers of high end custom lighting in Floyd, VA. Positions held: welder (Gas Tungsten Arc – brass, copper, aluminum, stainless, mild steel, cast iron), metal craftsman, team leader, shop foreman, quality control manager, design team leader, senior project manager, vice president of operations.
2015-2018 I worked in partnership Rick Kraft of Kraft Builders in Blacksburg, VA. Rick has been a licensed contractor for nearly three decades. He has built countless houses in Blacksburg including one for former Virginia Tech president Paul Torgerson. Together we have worked on projects including kitchen and bathroom renovations, new office construction, etc. Rick also consulted with me on my first ground up house.
2019-2020 I took what you might call a sabbatical in early 2019 during which I focused on finishing a previously back burnered motorcycle experiment. For the rest of the year it was back to residential remodel projects. While my main roots remain in Blacksburg, I have spent a bit of time in Albuquerque, NM over the last two years.
