This busy household needed a better flow in the mud room/laundry room between the garage and main living space. Their existing space was cramped and hard to use. We opened it up by removing the traditional over-and-under cabinets on both sides and a strange knee wall. An unused laundry chute was also removed. After some drywall repairs and fresh paint the installation of some new trim, hinges, doorknobs, switch plates, and light fixtures. New tile was laid and reclaimed barn wood wall with a distressed chalk paint was also installed to form an accent wall where the utility sink allows for dog washing, etc. Also part of the make over was replacing the old hinged door with a new custom sliding barn door made from reclaimed wood. This was provided by The Workshop in Floyd, VA.
